There have been some big captures in the last few weeks: Manchester United splashed the cash on Eric Bailly and then bagged Zlatan Ibrahimovic; Chelsea swooped for Michy Batshuayi ; Arsenal finalised their move for Granit Xhaka ; Man City added Nolito to their ranks.
With new TV money in the Premier League , the spending is unlikely to stop there, either. We can probably expect one of the busiest transfer seasons ever in the weeks ahead.
Many of the players targeted have been on duty for their countries in France. Below, Darren Lewis looks at the Euros stars who could make a move to these shores:
1. Paul Pogba (Juventus, £80m)
If this comes off, it will be the biggest deal of the transfer window by some distance. The superstar midfielder, 23, was allowed to slip through Manchester United’s fingers four years ago, leaving for Juventus. He has since gone on to make himself the most sought-after midfielder in Europe.
Pogba has helped Juve to four titles, two Italian Cups and a place in the Champions League Final last year.
The battle appears now to be between Real and United. The fee could match the world record paid by the Spanish giants for Gareth Bale three years ago.
2. Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid, £40m)
Last season Morata - sold to Juventus for £16million two years ago - helped the Italian club to win the Serie A title for a fifth time.
Real Madrid have exercised a £23million buyback option but could yet use him as a bargaining chip to land Eden Hazard from Chelsea.
Arsenal also have an interest in Morata. So too Manchester United.
3. Axel Witsel (Zenit St Petersburg, £15m)
Witsel’s club side, Zenit St Petersburg, have confirmed Stoke had a bid rejected for him during the January transfer window.
Stoke are once again back in for the 27-year-old but Liverpool and Manchester United are monitoring his situation. Chelsea have him on their shortlist but only in case other options are unavailable.
Stoke will wait, though. The tactic worked for them last summer when they landed Xherdan Shaqiri from Inter Milan who believed he would get a better offer and has since been inspirational for the Potters. Could lightning strike twice?
4. Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus, £20m)
It would also appear that the Italian Serie A champions are preparing for life without Bonucci by opening talks with Bayern Munich for their centre-back Mehdi Benatia.
5. Radja Nainggolan (Roma, £31m)
But far from seeing Nainggolan as a potential replacement if they miss out, Chelsea want both players. Roma want £31million for their 28-year-old star. Chelsea have not yet met the asking price but, with Manchester United making giant strides already, they should get this one done.
6. Blaise Matuidi (PSG, £15m)
A fierce, tough-tackling midfielder, he would walk into several Premier League clubs and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is a big admirer. Everton manager Ronald Koeman too.
7. Kamil Grosicki (Rennes, £10m)
He scored nine times last season and can play on either flank. Speedy Grosicki would cost the Toffees around £10million. With some of the silly money flying around that would represent a bargain.
8. Piotr Zielinski (Udinese, £15m)
The 22-year-old is a key target for Liverpool who are believed to have put in an £11million bid for him. Udinese, however, want £15million and AC Milan are ready to meet that valuation.
New Milan boss Vincenzo Montella also sees Zielinski as an important part of his plans but Zielinski appears keen to play next season in the Premier League. Expect this one to get done.
9. Ragnar Sigurdsson (Krasnodar, £4m)
Sigurdsson is even more attractive to both clubs because of his price tag. It would cost them just £4million to sign him from Krasnodar.
Spurs had been seeking more depth at centre-back even before Jan Vertonghen’s injury on Thursday while on international duty which his country - and club - fear could rule him out for up to four months.
Leicester need depth in their squad to cope with their first-ever season in the Champions League.
10. Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg, £15m)
His club have missed out on next season’s Champions League and Europa League, leading Rodriguez to make it clear that he wants out.
Wolfsburg accept now that they have to try and get the best deal they can for him.
