The driver lost control after exiting the notorious ‘Fuchsröhre’, which is of the track’s most demanding sections, and couldn’t brake enough before entering ‘Adenauer Forst’. As a result, the Koenigsegg smashed into a barrier and ended up on the other side of the rail with serious front and rear damage.Huge tyre marks along the asphalt show how far the unnamed test driver skidded before hitting the barriers.
The car also appears to have suffered fire damage as a result of the high speed crash, which happened on Monday.

In a statement, Koenigsegg confirmed the driver was taken to hospital as a precaution and released the same afternoon.
